The best ingredients mixed together don’t always give us gold. But they do in this case. The ORO QV MIPS has a QuattroVarioflex lens, which sets a new standard in terms of comfort thanks to the interlocking translation rotation mechanism (TRM). In conjunction with the additional MIPS safety feature, this results in a special helmet: a visor helmet for maximum comfort, enhanced safety and optimum visibility on the piste. This makes every day of skiing a golden day.

• MIPS provides additional protection in the event of crashes with rotational motion.
• Removable and washable interior ensures high hygiene factor
• Optimal air conditioning thanks to adjustable ventilation openings
• Reinforced lower edges ensure longevity and protection
• Optimal shock absorption due to microscopic air chambers
• Air vents at the top of the helmet can be opened and closed using the Airstream Control mechanism. The air flow can thus be regulated and adapted to the weather conditions. This ensures perfect air conditioning inside the helmet at all times.
• Proven a hundred thousand times over and used on all Alpina helmets: the strap buckle with the red push button and multi-step automatic locking mechanism. Ergomatic can be operated with one hand - you can loosen the strap on the way up the mountain and tighten it for downhill - and in a fall the locking mechanism cannot open automatically.
• The FIDLOCK helmet buckle can be closed securely even with one hand. The self-activating, magnetic locking mechanism is thus very convenient when putting on and taking off the helmet. The one-handed operation is quick and intuitive, without the risk of pinching skin. The FIDLOCK fastener is even easy to use when wearing gloves. The fastener securely prevents the helmet from being knocked off your head when the straps are correctly adjusted.
• Hardshell helmets consist of a Hi-EPS core and an impact-resistant outer shell made of ABS or polycarbonate. This combination ensures maximum safety.
• The inner shell of all Alpina helmets is made of Hi-EPS (High Expanded Polystyrene). The material has microscopically small air chambers that absorb the forces acting on the helmet in the event of an impact. Hi-EPS provides optimum protection and at the same time allows for extra-thin helmet wall as well as narrow helmet shapes.
• Helmets with a permanently integrated visor. The visors range from Singleflex and Doubleflex to Quattro and Varioflex. The large interior volume behind the draught-free visor makes these helmets perfect for spectacle wearers.
• MIPS is a system that provides protection against brain injuries that can be caused by rotational movements in an impact. The low-friction insert allows it to glide smoothly 10-15 mm in any direction, thus reducing the rotational movement in the event of a fall. This gives MIPS extra protection.
• Mirror is a lens on which multiple reflective layers are applied. They provide protection from harsh glares and infrared light. Mirror is not only the feature of a highly functional lens, it’s an element of style.
• The combination of Q and V technology. Quattroflex is our highly contrast-enhancing lens technology with polarising filter. Varioflex makes the glass tint automatically. The photochromatic (self-tinting) lens automatically reacts to visible light and darkens in a matter of seconds or brightens if it’s getting darker.
• The Run System enables all Alpina helmets to adjust to a custom size by using an easy-to-move dial. The Run System Classic scores points for its price/performance ratio. It is a simple and sturdy wheel that holds the helmet securely in place where it belongs: on the head.
• The Run System enables all Alpina helmets to adjust to a custom size by using an easy-to-move dial. Alpina relies on the tried-and-tested Run System Classic for its ski helmets, a flexible head adjustment system with a central dial. A twist mechanism allows the headband to be adjusted more loosely or more tightly. The large dial is equipped with a non-slip two-component mix and can be operated perfectly with ski gloves.
• A helmet can only provide the best possible protection if it remains in the optimum position in the event of an impact. The adjustment and fixing of the two straps under the ear plays a decisive role. The Y-clip system ensures a millimetre-accurate adjustment - in a matter of seconds.
