The models come with something more than a grippy Vibram® outsole whose special ICETREK® rubber mix helps to provide optimal support on snowy paths. The shoes offer flexible roll-off motion thanks to their directly injected midsole made of LOWA DynaPU® and lateral stability provided by their innovative support frame. The result is optimal performance. The shoes’ robust split leather with an injected protective film and the GORE-TEX Panda lining prevent moisture from sneaking into the shoes during the cold-damp time of year. The sporty and functional lifestyle look is rounded out by a soft tweed lining on the collar and an array of design elements. Such features ensure that the wearers can easily integrate the snug winter shoe into their everyday lives.
• GORE-TEX® – Guaranteed weather protection, even in pouring rain and heavy snow: The CALLISTO GTX Ws is equipped with a GORE-TEX membrane. The innovative technology delivers optimal waterproof protection and breathability.
• DOUBLE INJECTION -To provide effective cushioning and improved comfort, the sole of the CALLISTO GTX Ws is bonded to the upper in a technically demanding injection process. The upper boot is placed into a specially designed mould. Various layers of PU foam padding are then poured into it. In the process, the sole and upper are bonded together.
• SUPPORT FRAME - With the LOWA-MONOWRAP® frame, the midsole of the CALLISTO GTX Ws provides the very best comfort. This three-dimensional midsole design was developed by LOWA in 1995. The frame comfortably cradles the foot and support it when the shoe wearer ventures across uneven surfaces. The sole design is slightly raised for shoes with a SUPPORT FRAME.
• Dyna PU - The midsole is the leading contributor to the footwear’s rolling properties and cushioning. In the CALLISTO GTX Ws, this midsole is made of a specially developed plastic: LOWA DynaPU®. The special feature: It retains its restoring force even when it’s pressed together thousands of times. As a result, the finished boots will maintain their exceptional cushioning properties even after you have walked many kilometres in them.
• Woman last – To ensure perfect fit, the lasts used for CALLISTO GTX Ws have been specially designed with the anatomy of women’s feet in mind. The last plays a key role in the ultimate fit of a boot. Women’s feet have less volume than men’s feet. As a result, the instep height and the ball area of these lasts have been altered.
• The CALLISTO GTX Ws comes equipped with a Vibram® sole. The Italian sole manufacturer has been one of the leading brands of high-quality soles for many years.
The VIBRAM® IBEX WINTER impresses users with its perfect combination of design and material composition. The profile elements were designed with the hooves of the ibex in mind. This sharp profile helps provide good stability on various terrains. The ICETREK® compound was also developed to handle the low and medium temperatures of winter and to improve grip on very cold, icy or snow-covered terrain.
